DAY 01 BEIJING
Transfer to hotel(depending on the arrival time,
we will arrange program accordingly)
DAY 02 BEIJING
Our city tour takes us to the Temple of Heaven,
Tiananmen square, the world's largest public square, the Summer
Palace and the Forbidden City, viewing the splendor in which
China's emperors lived.
DAY 03 BEIJING
Surely the highlight of any China tour must be
the Great Wall. Descend from the wall and head for the Ming Tomb
Museum. Tonight, feast upon world famous Peking Duck.
DAY 04 BEIJING-XIAN
After breakfast, enjoy a flight to Xian, the
historic starting point of the Wall. Tonight, after dinner, we
enjoy a stage Opera of the Tang Dynasty.
DAY 05 XIAN
The highlights of our sightseeing tour today is
to visit to Qin Shihuang's amazing Terra cotta Warriors who
guard the tomb of Emperor Qin. And another historic sight is the
Neolithic archaeological site of 6,000 years old Banpo Village.
DAY 06 XIAN-DUNHUANG
After breakfast, fly to Dunhuang, one of china's
most historic that served as a rest stop for traders and as the
gateway Through which Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity entered
China. Our city tour includes the Sand-sound Hill and Moon Lake.
DAY 07 DUNHUANG-TURPAN
Full day excursion to the Mogao grottoes, known
as the World Art Treasure House. The cave is large, most well
preserved treasure house of arts in the world and is listed as
one of the World Cultural Heritages. After dinner, we take a
evening train to Turpan, overnight train through the Gobi
Desert. (nice express train with soft sleepers, 4 berths each
cabin.)
DAY 08 TURPAN
As our train pulls into Turpan, the sun rises
over the desert. We are transferred to the hotel breakfast and
rest for a while. Travel from this oasis town to the awesome,
ruined city of Jiaohe was plundered by the Mongolian Khans, and
yet, the dry, desert air has preserved it. Return to our hotel
via the dazzling Flaming Mountains with their Buddhist Caves.
DAY 09 TURPAN
This area is famous for its grapes and melons.
Today's excursion takes us to Grape Valley, passing many
colorful Uyghur villages each surrounded by their grapevines.
DAY 10 TURPAN-URUMQI
Coach to Urumqi in the morning, the capital of
Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. We will visit the Bazaar,
which is a must see adventure.
DAY 11 URUMQI
We will cruise on the Lake of Heaven. Driving
back to the city, en route we will pass the yurts on nomadic
Uyghurs & Cossacks with their herds horses & flocks of
sheep.
DAY 12 URUMQI-SHANGHAI
By air to Shanghai. City tour to Yu Garden and
Jade Buddha Temple, the Bund.
DAY 13 SHANGHAI
Exit Shanghai by our homebound international
flight.
