Say you’re going to celebrate your promotion with a vacation!

On a piece of paper.
Tell them that it is the best time to get vacation so you can spend the extra money from the promotion.

Make sure you understand and have under control any new job responsibilities before you take a vacation.
They may rethink they’re descision if you request your time too soon!

tell them you are treating yourself to a vacation for a job well done. or tell them you need sometime away from the office to let the "promotion" thing sink in!

Ask your immediate supervisor ,if it is a good time to ask or if you should wait. And if you have the time coming from the lower position mention that too.
